Counting
Counting is a critical component of this unit.
Remember the developmental progression of counting:
1) Counting and moving objects as they count them
2) Counting in a line or circle and touching
3) Counting a scattered arrangement.
*Most of your students should be working on Stage 1 or Stage 2 above.

Writing Numbers
Writing Numbers is not a major focus in Unit 1.
Do not overemphasize this!
