CMS GEOMETRY REPLACEMENT UNIT:

Introduction : Part 1 : Part 2 : Part 3 : Part 4

Please note: the following unit provides 30 lessons. The current pacing guide suggests 27 days for geometry. You may want to start the unit by combining lessons 2-3 (and skipping lesson 1). Teachers may also want to combine lessons 26-7 and have students explore line and rotational symmetry together.
*Note- the Scott Foresman Text referenced in Lesson 1 is not needed. These pages listed vocabulary words that the students should become familiar with. It is suggested that you start with lessons 2-3 (combined).

VOCABULARY Support:

Great resources to use to help your students tackle these important terms!~
*A note about vocabulary; 5th grade geometry involves many 'new' words. The most effective way for students to learn these words is by interacting with them. For example, I could read, copy, and even memorize this: "A number of coplanar line segments, each connected end to end to form a closed shape", however, it wouldn't help me truly understand what a polygon is.
